About this Webinar

The Teacher Wellbeing Index 2024 reported increases in parent complaints and subsequent negative effects on staff mental health. Additionally, both the SEND Code of Practice and proposed Ofsted Toolkit place significant emphasis on relationships and communication between education professionals and parents.

Following on from our previous “Managing Difficult Conversations in Safeguarding” webinar, in this session leadership coach and trainer Karen Amos will be joined by SEND expert Angela Smith. Together they will explore the challenges facing education and safeguarding professionals who must navigate ‘difficult conversations’ with parents.

Key Takeaways

  • Unpacking the SEND Code of Practice & Ofsted Toolkit: To build a consistent and effective approach and culture within your setting.
  • Coaching and practical tips: Utilising key communication techniques to bring positive outcomes from a diverse range of conversations in all settings.
  • The parent perspective: Understanding the parent’s perspective to build better understanding and relationships.

Whether addressing safeguarding concerns, or supporting with SEND issues, Karen and Angela will provide insights and practical advice to successfully negotiate challenging conversations for better outcomes.
