Safeguarding records are far more than an administrative task. They may later be read, relied upon or challenged in a wide range of settings, from multi-agency referrals and Ofsted inspections to court proceedings and EHCP appeals. How a record is written can shape how it is understood long after the event it describes.
Join Antonia Noble, barrister and safeguarding specialist, as she unpacks what makes a safeguarding record clear, accurate and defensible. This webinar will explore the difference between fact, observation, information received and professional opinion, and how easily ordinary words, including “disclosure”, can carry unintended meaning.
Antonia Noble is a barrister, safeguarding specialist, speaker and experienced decision-maker. She also runs a safeguarding network for the South West Association of Leaders of Special Schools. Through her work with schools, businesses and sporting organisations, Antonia helps teams build confident safeguarding cultures through strategy, community and specialist training. Her experience in the courtroom and as a decision-maker gives her a clear understanding of what decision-makers need from safeguarding records and reports.
Antonia has created a range of accredited courses designed to teach social workers the key skills they need for court and confident decision-making. Beyond her day-to-day work, she has many years of experience in education governance and supporting international safeguarding through her role as a trustee of My Body is My Body. Antonia also serves as a governor across several education settings and at Art Shape.
